VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
“FRIENDS OF THE BURLINGTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA”
The Burlington Symphony Orchestra is looking for volunteers to help us be the most successful Burlington-Hamilton Community Orchestra we can. We are seeking help in many different areas (as listed below) or you can tell us your strengths and we will use those to create a task or project.
This group would meet several times throughout the season to turn its collective power into a wall of support for the orchestra. If you would like to be involved, please contact our Manager of Orchestra Operations, at info@burlingtonsymphony.ca.
Some of the areas in which you might like to help are:
-
Advertising and marketing
-
Clerical work, graphic design
-
Community outreach – e.g. Promoting our orchestra in the community, mini-concert organization, children’s programming
-
Fundraising events like bake sales, silent auctions, galas; we will NOT ask you to solicit funds or do any sort of Corporate Fundraising
-
VIP reception organization, catering
-
Youth and the Symphony (a focus on getting youth connected to our orchestra)
-
Assisting the music librarian and the equipment manager
-
Consulting with the Board on special projects where you have expertise
-
Organizing special events to coincide with our concerts
Please note that high school students can volunteer as part of their 40 hour community service hours required for graduation
