INTRODUCING THE “FRIENDS OF THE BURLINGTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA” INITIATIVE.

As one of the leading Burlington-Hamilton Community Orchestras, the Burlington Symphony Orchestra is keen on welcoming dedicated volunteers to bolster our growth and success. We have myriad roles available – but should you have a particular strength or expertise, contact us to find the right role or project just for you.

Support local arts by joining us in our endeavour, and you’ll be part of a cohesive group that convenes throughout the season; together, we’ll form an unwavering bastion of support for the orchestra.

  • Advertising and marketing
  • Clerical Duties and Graphic Design
  • Community Engagement – This involves orchestra promotion, mini-concerts, and children’s programming
  • Organising Fundraising Events such as bake sales, silent auctions, and galas (Note: We won’t expect you to solicit funds or engage in Corporate Fundraising)
  • Overseeing VIP Receptions and Catering
  • Propagating “Youth and the Symphony” – An initiative to foster youth engagement with our orchestra
  • Assisting our Music Librarian and Equipment Manager
  • Lending your expertise for special projects in consultation with our Board
  • Planning events aligned with our concert schedule

Ontario High School Community Service Hours:

Volunteering with the Burlington Symphony Orchestra is a great way to get involved in your community, and we have student-friendly volunteer opportunities for youths from Burlington, Hamilton, Oakville, Milton, Mississauga and surrounding regions. 

Ontario high school students looking to fulfil their community service commitments, our volunteer roles can be counted towards the mandatory 40-hour requirement for graduation.
